TD Retail Card Services expands relationship with Birks & Mayors to include private label credit card for Mayors stores in U.S.

MAHWAH, N.J. (11/05/09) - Following its selection earlier this year of TD Retail Card Services to handle the operations of its private label credit card program in Canada, luxury jeweler Birks & Mayors (NYSE AMEX: BMJ) has retained the company to administer the card program for its U.S. stores operating under the Mayors name.

Under the agreement, the Mahwah, N.J-based business unit of TD Bank, N.A., will direct all facets of the program for the 30 Mayors stores, which are located across Florida and Georgia and include five flagship locations in Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Atlanta’s Buckhead section.

Following the move to TD Retail Card Services, Mayors cardholders will continue to be able to avail themselves of a number of financing options, including interest-free and low-interest offerings, as well as a customer loyalty rewards program and a variety of special incentives and services.

Cardholders will continue to enjoy such benefits as free jewelry cleaning, gift certificates on their birthday, free deliveries, free engraving of up to 10 characters with any purchase of $200 or more, and advance notice of all Mayors special events, promotions and sales.

TD Retail Card Services began running the private label credit card program for the 37 Birks stores throughout Canada and the retailer’s website (www.birks.com) in January 2009. Founded in 1879 by Henry Birks, the venerable retailer’s operations also include a design studio and manufacturing facilities that create and source fine jewelry and timepieces, as well as Birks’ proprietary silver flatware and holloware products.
